Hi there! For the coming weeks, our blog will be dedicated to our Young SIOP Award winners!
Please meet Masato Kojima, YI from Japan, in his own words.
I work as a pediatric surgeon in Clinic of Hiroshima University Hospital and as a researcher of pediatric oncology especially pediatric solid tumors. The main theme of my research is “Liquid biopsy” of pediatric solid tumors using cell-free DNA and circulating tumor cells.
Recently, our laboratory established the PCR detecting system of CTNNB1 mutation in tumor DNA without sequencing. At this SIOP meeting, I will introduce the application of this system as a liquid biopsy using cfDNA derived from serum samples.
