Please meet Lauren Vasta, YI from the USA, in her own words.
Dr. Lauren M. Vasta is a third year Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Fellow. She completed her medical education at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency as part of the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland. Following residency, she practiced general pediatrics for three years before returning for Pediatric Hematology and Oncology fellowship.
During fellowship, Dr. Vasta conducted research in cancer genetics as a member of the Division of Clinical Epidemiology and Cancer Genetics at the National Cancer Institute under Douglas R. Stewart, MD. Her particularly focuses includes research in DICER1, inherited bone marrow failure syndromes and cancer survivorship.
Upon graduation from fellowship, Dr. Vasta will be taking a staff position in Honolulu, Hawaii.
