Meet the 2021 Young SIOP awardees - Ying Yang

Please meet Ying Yang, YI from China, in her own words.



I am a junior resident, MD, PhD student, and a medical student of Beijing Children’s Hospital, Capital Medical University. My doctorial tutor is professor Tianyou Wang, chairman of Pediatrics Society, Chinese Medical Association. 

I received postgraduate education at Capital Medical University and joined the research group of Tianyou Wang (MD), Rui Zhang (MD) and Zhigang Li (PhD) in 2017 and started doctoral career in 2020. My research focuses on defining the clinical features of pediatric histiocytic disorders and genomic alterations that drive the pathogenesis of pediatric Langerhans cell histiocytosis.

I have participated in four clinical trials and three projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Capital’s Funds for Health Improvement and Research and the Special Fund of the Pediatric Medical Coordinated Development Center of Beijing Hospitals Authority. 

I have published four SCI articles as the first author, with a cumulative impact factor of 17.7 scores, as well as three Chinese articles.
