Meet the SIOP awardees 2020 - Anne-Lotte L.F. van der Kooi

Please meet Anne-Lotte L.F. van der Kooi, YI from The Netherlands, in her own words.


After completion of Medical School (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Anne-Lotte L.F. van der Kooi obtained her PhD at the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam in 2019.  She carried out her research at the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, under the supervision of prof. dr. Joop Laven, and under the supervision of prof. dr. Marry van den Heuvel –Eibrink at the department of Paediatric Oncology and Haematology and later the Prinses Máxima Centrum for Peadiatric Oncology in Utrecht. 

The general aim of Anne-Lotte’s research is to evaluate reproductive health in children who have been treated for cancer, with the focus mainly on female survivors of childhood cancer. Gonadal function, genetic susceptibility and perinatal outcomes represent her main interest. 

In August 2019 she started her residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ikazia Hospital Rotterdam.
